LED CHANDELIER

LED CHANDELIER
LED CHANDELIER
22 storey high chandelier woven with silver plated wire and LED's (in collaboration with Pheonix Large Lightmatters)
57 x 7M
Commissioned by Phoenix Lightmatters to create the world's largest woven lighting installation for a hotel in Warsaw. The structure hangs in a glass atrium over a distance of 22 storeys and uses over 3000 light emitting diodes woven into a wire structure. This technique was so popular that a second, cylindrical, chandelier was requested for the internal stairwell. The brief required a light fitting which was transparent in order that people travelling in the glass lifts could look through the structure and out across the city. The artwork references traditional chandeliers while reinventing scale and materials.
